A link was sent to me by a friend last week: It is napstergirl, an ad for Napster - a P2P server for music downloads. A woman is seen stripping before stopping right before taking all of her clothes off. The ad itself is ethically questionable for feminists, but then again it is quite frequent to see the use of women and their sexual (ab)use in the advertisement industry. Objectification is too common for people to even be shocked by it: a woman is just, in the eyes of the audience, a sensual object to be looked at and desired. I'd like to think there's more to human relations to this, but then again, I keep on being proved wrong.
